| I installed my GPS and Fishfinder, using a RAM mount. It's surprisingly sturdy. The nice thing is that I can swing both units at the same time from the cockpit to the cabin. I can even swing them downward so I can see them at night from the aft berth. This gives me peace of mind while at anchor. I can just glance up from the berth and make sure I'm in the spot I should be. The RAM mount allows the ability to position the units any way you want. I bought a $2 Simpson bracket from Lowes, rounded it off to match the contour of the RAM mount, for good looks. The bracket mounted where it is allows the mount to clear the companionway when it is positioned toward the cockpit. I really like this mount for the versatility it provides. I didn't have to make any large cutout holes. There is a huge selection of components available to accomodate any kind of installation you have in mind. http://www.ram-mount.com/ramwebcompthumb/Page.html |
