The standard MacGregor 26X is fairly spartan when you first get it. Most people end up making a lot of modifications to their new boat by installing new hardware and other toys.

Once you get over the fear of drilling holes in your new boat, you will soon find yourself customizing and personalizing quite a few things. However, drilling those first holes can be quite a stressful experience.

Notice the grimace in the picture on the left. Take your time and plan everything you do very carefully.

As you can see in the picture on the right, soon the grimace will be replaced by an expression of pure joy, and you will be looking all over for places to drill holes.

At this point, you should begin to temper your enthusiasm before you get carried away :-)

I found that I really learned a lot through the process and thought it would be a good idea to share my experiences with others. That's why I designed this page. Now you can help other people turn their gimaces into smiles by sharing what you have learned.
